    An embarrassingly long time has once again gone by between updates. The truth is I got caught up an a couple of real-world creative theatrical projects as well as the practical aspects of putting a new roof and solar panels on the old homestead. Not an excuse, but it’s the truth.

    But now, I have found the time to try to make it up to all of youse, and I hope you all will still stick around to see and enjoy it!

    I can relate, in the last 4 years, I had to get my neck fused, developed heart trouble, my cancer returned, (in remission now) and a slue of other minor health issues. My wife fell and broke her hip, they had to replace the joint 2 years ago. My father is 90 (I’m his care-giver) and has dementia. Yeah, been kinda busy myself. Don’t get old, it sux…
    I love your comic, I’ve been following for many years now, I don’t mind if RL gets in the way for you. We can wait!

    Hey, RL has a habit of that. But on the plus side, it clearly allowed you time for your brain to process the layout for this page in the background, and the results are very dynamic.

    I especially like the final panel cliffhanger, even though I knoe full well that, Tula, of all people, will have her shields up for dragon breath weapons. 🙂

      Some times, “Been there, done that” doesn’t quite cover it, but it does help to have support. I’d love to see Keltan to throw his morning star at either the dragon or Gorslash while he’s distracted, but that might put an end to the story line a bit premature. Granted Gorslash could beg to get resurrected again, all we can do is wait and see.

      LOL, sorry. I just wanted to give support and a few words of encouragement. I was working on a web toon about 20 years ago myself, but in that case I trusted the wrong person with my concept art and a rough-sketched opening comic and they stole the idea, In a display of karma, he screwed it up and it bombed, so maybe it was for the best.

    I’m seriously thinking of doing a re-read here, it’s been ages since I did that, so I might be behind on the lore a bit. When dealing with an evil “god” they do tend to break the rules a bit. At some point, someone is going to have to reaffirm the seals placed on “Scumch” ( I think that was his name) so he will stop messing with our hero’s and torment the planet.

    Dude! thats the kind of shit we LIKE to hear is causing a delay! when you say Theatrical. im assuming small-time shoe string drama/plays? and solar panels on the roof, ALWAYS a great fucking investment. its fun to come home and find out you’re supplying power to the grid and they local P&L company has to be paying YOU.

Over the past year, my Patreon patrons have been generously giving me money to pursue my vision of an animated web series based on The Challenges Of Zona.  In return they get early updates, desktops and other fun stuff.   But all of it has had one goal.  And we have just passed the first milestone on the way to that goal. I have just made the first payment to a talented young animator who is contracted to produce a 61-second fully animated trailer for The Challenges Of Zona. We’re both really enthusiastic and I have high confidence that, within the next month or two we will have something to show folks that we’re serious about bringing a new fantasy phenomenon to the web. I needed all of you, patrons and fans alike to support me in this and you have not disappointed.  Eventually everyone will see the end product, but Zona’s patrons will be in on all the latest updates, new character models, tests, renders and everything as it happens, plus any other extras we can give in humble gratitude. Sorry kids.  I am working on a largish crowd scene for page 1052.  It will probably not be ready until tomorrow at earliest. However, for my Patreon patrons, there is a scene with our lovers that takes care of one of my little loose threads.  Alas, I got tired of being clever so there’s no attempt to hide their nudity, so I had to put it on the Patreon site.  Don’t worry, though.  It’s not necessary to enjoy the next regular page. You people are wonderful, and today we crossed a bit of a threshold and have now more than fifty patrons who are helping us get to the ever-nearer goal of ten thousand bucks for the Zona animated demo and then beyond to a series! Thanks to all you guys out there who have helped us make a great start on our goal!  And as promised, I’m starting a 12-page one off story for my more generous patrons.   It’s funny how the One Possible Future daughter of Zona and Mentl has come up again in the comments, because she’s the central character in this little tale.  It’s not a great epic adventure, but you get to see Rachel deal with some of the problems of adolescence in a strange world – Earth.  If you want to see this and other extras, (including all the sexy stuff) come put a few sheckels into the kitty to help make Zona come to life in an animated  series!   Warm regards – JED

See, here’s my idea.  I have been doing a web comic for over 11 years now, and I have accumulated a story and characters and a whole world – as well as you, my friends and readers.  It’s very rewarding and I will not be giving it up at all. In fact, we’re gonna take it to the next level.  I will be using my Patreon account with a fundraising goal of ten thousand dollars to hire animators to translate Zona, Mentl and all of Erogenia into an animated short.  This will be the launching point for getting backers and making a regular ongoing series of sexy, fun, entertaining fantasy all based on the Challenges Of Zona.
