  1. Cool, back to the trio already!

And it has been awhile since I was the first to post!

    1. Well, if that’s your thing you now have like a thousand pages on which you can be the first to post.

Not that I’m judging or condemning you, sibling.

  2. Methinks it might Tethik and Thann on the other side? Then they really are where they need to be. Then again, knowing JED, it’s another surprise altogether. 😀

  3. we already established that they were over 10,000 units away. they’ve only been walking for two days from the mirror. I don’t think they had any food on them when they fell in. nothing’s indicated that the caves are somehow distance accelerating channels. I predict this guy is going to fall in love with Tula. We’ve already established that he has some sort of social standing. Although his by play with his seneschal is kind of unusual, and somehow leads me to believe some skulduggery is happening.

it would be appreciated if somebody would post the alt text it sadly is unavailable to me on a mobile.

    1. Aren’t they half siblings?

  4. A second idea just occurred to me and that would be the Lord in question is a junior member of whatever house. who grew up with the other person and hasn’t quite got the rank separation thing straightened out yet.

  5. @Just_IDD the text at the bottom is : ” So is the light at the end of the tunnel an oncoming train?”
I am enjoying that they are together again, and indeed, who’s that knocking on the door?

    1. Yes, I can read that text. ALT text occurs when you initially hold your cursor over an image without clicking. On a mobile this is something that is essentially impossible to accomplish. The cursor only exists while you are clicking, and most browsers wont recognize a stylus for that function even if the stylus tracks that point. Since I bought a huge phone a few years ago I’ve actually stopped using my laptop for a lot of things webcomics are one of them. also speech-to-text is about a thousand times better than my typing and it automatically spell checks too! FTW!

      1. The alt-text here is not anything special or exciting, it’s just the page title and page number, which you can also see at the top of the comments. Don’t worry about it…

  6. Big Trouble in Little China reference spotted!

    1. Logan Darklighter

HA!! Glad to see I wasn’t the only one who spotted that!
      “How’d you get up there?”
      “It wasn’t easy!”

Which – like so many thing Egg Shen says – isn’t REALLY answering the question.
“It will come out NO MORE!”
“WHAT? WHAT’LL COME OUT NO MORE??”
      “C’mon!”
      “Damnit!”

      😀

  7. betcha its the king. They’re in Greymouth of all places.

  8. I love Tula’s mildly amused smile at Mentl’s reply. I don’t know that she has seen Big Trouble in Little China, since she’s done nothing but work on the book after they found him (all right, and having sex with Zero), but she might just have caught the reference from side research. By the way, thanks Ganurath, I didn’t get it (but then I’m awful about this film).

As for the as-yet-unknown pair… I don’t see two characters who would fit that dialogue.
Tethik and Thann are out of the question, since in the previous page Tethik didn’t object to being called “my Lord” when that was just the two of them. (Unless lots of things have happened in between because time might have been fluctuant, but I doubt it.)
I don’t see any Erogenian whom we know that would be called “Lord”, so that narrows it down strongly. Nor, for that matter, any Urtts.
This leaves Kivalians, but I only see four people we know about that would be called “Lord”.
Maldik, except he wouldn’t be called “Lord” but something higher up like “Your Grace” or something. And even so, I doubt he has a relationship with anyone who would warrant that dialogue.
Tethik we have already ruled out.
That leaves the king or lord Dell, but either way I don’t see anyone whom they’d be talking with who we’d know.

So I don’t think we know both characters. We may well know one of them.

Also, that “Sometimes I think I do” sounds disappointed to me. Like a lover who’s seen a few too many times that s/he is illegitimate, or a childhood/youth friend whose relationship with someone in power has been strained by duty and rank…

  9. I feel the Earth move… under my feet. – Carol King

  10. Captain Marsupial

Mott the Hoople have a good solution to their problem:

  11. Yay! And the two teams meet!

  12. Well, my bet will be the king or the king’s party, but I could be completely wrong and it might be some new allies. 🙂

The big question is: do we have to wait one or two pages for the reveal?
