Interesting, they remind me of those twin gal’s that were a short side story. Uh oh, Liri’s got the bloodlust now. They really pulled all the stops here. Then Mentl shows up and starts singing “Goodness gracious great balls of fire” flame shoots from his hands setting those 2 and all the Urrts ablaze… One can hope anyway.
Yes, Zona has actually used that phrase before in the comic. And of course she picked it up, and other bits of Yiddishkeit, from Mentl and his family.
🙂
Warm regards,
JED
As a lifelong student of fiction (and with an MA in Creative Writing and MA in Teaching English Language Arts to back it up), what I find fascinating is that we, the audience, know that Zona, Liri, Mentl, et al., will win the day. The outcome is predetermined based on the type of story it is. What we don’t know, as an audience, is HOW they’ll win the day. It really says something about the human condition that, in our storytelling, we care far more about the journey than the destination (so long as the destination doesn’t feel like a rug pull). That’s from a literary perspective, of course. From an analytical perspective, we know that:
a) Mentl is super powerful and hasn’t shown up yet;
b) other powerful allies, such as Vito, haven’t shown up yet;
c) (and, in my opinion, most importantly), Mentl and Zona’s daughter (Rachel? It’s been a hot minute) exists and knows both of her parents.
(Analyzing a barbarian soap opera webcomic – gods, can you tell I used to work in national intelligence. I have a very weird background, I know.) Anyway, combined, these factors indicate that the Moon Tribe alliance will win out in the end. The question that remains is HOW that will happen. And that is a question I have been tuning in for… *checks watch* …over 17 years to discover the answer to.
I hope your health and general life situation continues to improve, JED. You do good work, and I’m quite sure there are a lot of people who are looking forward to the finale of your passion project (of which I am most certainly one).
I doubt both Rachel or Vito will get involved, Vito has faith in Mentl and after the chewing out she got from Daddy after stealing her mom’s sword and time jumping I doubt she’ll risk it again. There’s still Zone’s dad’s group to arrive, I think this is the big push by the Urrts, so it’s going to be all hands in.
I’m so pretty! I’m so pretty! 😆
Seriously though, bright colors stand out on the battlefield, and those two DEFINITELY don’t want to blend in! My guess is since ogres are sort of elite troops, I’m guessing these two count as heroes for the Uurts. Not to mention a certain flaming fuck skull’s attempt at his own (per)version of the giantkin.
AFAIK we have no current problems with malware, etc.
Go ahead and clear your cache if you haven’t. I don’t have any problems ATM in either Chrome or Edge.
Can confirm.
AV was triggering on something in normal Firefox whenever visiting here, which wasn’t occurring in private browsing, nor in Chrome nor Edge .
Cleared cache for this website only, and no subsequent AV triggering.
Scratch my earlier reply about everything being ok!
Just had my AV trigger today as well.
1st attempt to access the site resulting in AV alert about a script-based Trojan Horse (accompanied with the page not rendering as expected). Having clicked to reply, I was then presented with a correctly rendered page, but also another AV alert, this time about a botnet apparently originating from fashion-chicken.com.
For reference, this second alert is identical to the one that was triggered yesterday.
This has taken several attempts to actually reply, as once the trojan and botnet alerts have happened, subsequent attempts to access the site (such as clicking on send reply!) fail and require a clearing of the cache to resolve.
Godaddy support said it was with some WordPress plugin. Found a couple I didn’t immediately recognize, and deactivated.
Honesty, this stuff is tiresome beyond endurance …
My AV keeps blocking the site, claiming a Trojan is present. This is the first time I was able to get in to comment.

Try clearing your cache.
I’m not getting the Trojan alert any more, but the fashion-chicken.com BotNet is still there.
Not sure where it’s originating from, as a search of the client-side code only shows it in my comment. Probably, there’s something pointing to an apparently-harmless site that does the actual redirect.
Hello! I am a security analyst investigating this malicious domain “fashion-chicken[.]com”. As of today, 8/17/2026 4:28PM CT, this website is seemingly still making callouts to “fashion-chicken[.]com”.
I am but a meager analyst, but I did want to recommend that you remove all suspicious/unknown WP plugins again, as WELL as resetting your admin credentials and investigating any other new/unknown admin users and removing them as well. That would help prevent the intrusion from happening again, as that is likely how they are regaining access.
Apologies for the unsolicited advice if it caused offense, I wish you luck!
Both RSS feed links, the “entries feed” and “comment feed” returns the same feed result: the comments feed, no wonder i have not gotten any updates on the comics itself in a while 🙂

‘Oy vey’? Zona, did you pick that up from Mentl? O.o

Well, Liri may be about to conduct a Two-for-one Bris!

Of course, what else? 😛 Liri is ready to test herself and her shiny new weapons.

I gotta say, I like Liri’s attitude. I sure as Hell hope it doesn’t bite her on the sweet ass of hers!

Just want to point out that the comic itself is now 21 years old and old enough to drink.

So, too many hang-overs then? 😛

Appreciate the step-by-step breakdown. Very beginner friendly.

Nobody has said it yet so, here goes; “Pink skirts?” Really? JED, you run out of Black, Brown or Red? 😉
Speedy
Historically, Pink was a warrior’s colour. due to being close to blood.

It makes them feel pretty.

Every time I open this page in Firefox, my Nortons chucks a fit.
“Siege-close.com” a URL: Botnet seems to be living here.

I’m also getting the warning from Norton about blocking fashion-chicken.com as a dangerous web site.
