An accusation of lying is not remotely trivial in this culture. Saying Zona lied is the kind of thing that could start a war.
And a short one, because as the kingdom’s champion, where lying is utterly scorned, it would be an insult on each and every adult in the kingdom. Everyone would turn out with blood in their eyes.
