  1. Sheesh, Your Majesty… He could almost be your son, you know? ^^

  2. Reservist, this is part of the running gag about Mentl. It starts on page 142, with Tula getting “distracted”.
Mentl’s hung like a moose, and normal people can’t concentrate properly with that right in front of them.

I cannot, and have never been able to resist a running gag.

    Warm regards,

    JED

  3. Not to mention it’s usually the ladies who have the darnedest timing. He tends to be clueless until someone reminds him. And the Erogenians are a breed apart when it comes to the physical form. They appreciate without the creep factor. Think of them as the average Euro on a nude beach. They can admire without needing to throw it over their shoulder and drag it to the cave for zug-zug.

  4. Well, Ipola *was* my guess, so looks like I was right. I think she got Tula’s message on the urtt army disappearing and is calling in reinforcements to be able to transport their own army to a new location. Hopefully Mentl will have healed enough by now to do it.

  5. Mentl’s main reason for staying was to heal AND learn his magic better, and I suspect he’s been slacking off a bit for that reason, to understand his magic and how to control it. When he first tried using it to fight off those critters in the cave that the three of them were escaping the Urrts from and ended up melting the cave from the heat he put off. Then when he and Tula when to that human kingdom, he mistakenly effected every woman in the place with a simple love song. He is madly powerful and had almost no control, and just learning new spells made it even more dangerous. Vito had showed him how to not only learn what he can do and fast-track it, but to control that well enough to be safe to have around. Now, sadly, he’s running out of time and ready or not, he’s got to protect his “wife” and her people from a very big danger. Mama just told him play-time is over. Magic is the single most dangerous thing anyone can do, and with his seemingly endless power level, he’s a nuke on a hair trigger. Hopefully, he’s ready enough to put an end to this mess, quickly.

    1. Oops I meant Zona and him went to the human kingdom Tula went later.

  6. Scars,
Yeah, that’s exactly it. While he’s been getting better in small-scale engagements, things are about to get epic in scale, and he can’t afford to let his power get out of control. He’s also afraid he could accidentally do Shuach’s job for him if he’s not careful. Along with hurting his Lady and the other people he has grown to love there. It doesn’t help that the big nuke on the other side doesn’t care or have similar restraint issues.

This is about to get REAL.

    1. Mentl is the ONLY player that Gorhash hasn’t tried to kill/inslave again, a cowardly run-away screaming about Mentl’s magic being corrupt. Even with Shuach’s help, they’d be hard-pressed to beat him. Mentl is still VERY pissed about his mom don’t forget. I’m worried about that one magic mirror event, shades of Darth Vader, it keeps ringing a slow bell there. “Give into your hate, and your journey to the dark side will be complete!” Fight with wisdom, not emotion, emotion is too hard to control in the heat of battle.
