I *think* he’s already convinced himself that glory is his, “for the taking”. IOTL, Hitler was asked about the western nation’s response to conquering Poland, and replied “They are Worms”. In planning the assault on Russia he said “It’s all a rotten house, and will fall in a few months.” What was driving Hitler was that he had built a conquest machine, the Heer and the Luftwaffe, that was eating Germany out of house and home, and needed someone else being conquered to feed his monster machine. What is Arrogond’s monster that is driving him? Has Shuach already been having dream conversations here? With sociopath’s it can simply be watching someone else succeed while they do not, or not as much.
