  1. I can respect the fact that as soon as a witness came forth for the dragons, he gave his name. Honor, duty, and humanity. I like these two.

    1. Yes, they’re meant to be guys who can be relatable, not just to us, but to each other.

      Warm regards,
      JED

  2. Oy. A Casablanca quote. I approve.

    1. Part of my DNA, mate. Can’t help it.
      🙂

      Warm regards,
      JED

  3. Congrats to Targul who called it. (Mertean=Martin, Bedik=Benedict).

    1. Yep.

I think it was the helmets that threw people, because the Cumberbatch model is a particularly good likeness.
I’d like to take credit for it, but I’m not that good. Bedik is played by “The Sleuth” by Henrika, and Mertean is played by “Doc” also by Henrika. Really fine work from an outstanding artist.

      Warm regards,
      JED

  4. If I had to pick one flaw for this webcomic, it would be that it gives me waaaaaay too many favorite characters.

(And if I’ll be allow to nitpick for a heartbeat, JED, I believe future uses of dragons flying in formation would look slightly better if their positions were less similar. Yet ’tis but a trifle.)

    1. Thanks very much!

Also, as far as the picking of nits is concerned, these particular dragons are magickal! And … and … they’re quantum entangled!
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

      Warm regards,

      JED

      1. Oh, if the dragons are magickal, then I take back everything I said. Of course they are. Why didn’t I think of it?

Stick to your story, man, that’s what we do too.

    2. It’s not as if there are many experienced dragon riders in this world. This be Teria, not Pern!

  5. Oh those last two panels. Worthy payoff for reading them.

    1. I love a good payoff, I do.

      Thanks very much!

      Warm regards,
      JED

  6. Ok. Did I miss it somewhere? That is Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch for sure now!

    1. you’re not missing anything. 🙂

From the moment I introduced my fiancee’ to “Sherlock” she was completely hooked. She is now far more rabid a fan of the show than I was, and also especially of Mr Freeman and all his extraordinary work. She says she likes him because he actually resembles me. ( I don’t completely see it myself, but yeah, sort of)

Anyway, this is a casting (and naming) decision I made specifically to please she who shall be my wife in about two weeks. n

Also, I find it hard to resist a pop culture homage in general, as some of you may have noticed. 😀

      Warm regards,

      JED

      1. Congratulations!!!

      2. Congratulations, oh Chieftain of the Tribe!

      3. Congratulations to the both of you! May the road you both walk be long, beautiful and walked with joy, love and strength!

  7. *arms flailing* Dragons!!!

    Dun, dun, dun!

And yes; it may be the beginning of a friendship we see there. 🙂

    1. Oh definitely. They were supposed to be a one-off – now I have a great scene I’m writing with them that actually helps transition to one of the other major sub-plots.

      😀
      Warm regards,
      JED

  8. I also forgot to mention that I love the phrase “as God saves me” to add emphasis to a sentence. I’ll try to use it again.

    1. Always happy to enrich the vocabulary.

      🙂

      Warm regards

      JED

  9. And obviously a nod to Benedict and Martin. Nice catch Targul!

    1. Yep see the above comments. 🙂

      Warm regards,
      JED

  10. Ran across this comic a while back, think the ‘current’ comic then was the battle on motorcycles. Enjoyed it, got distracted, lost track.
Just finished reading the archives. Only objection is that there isn’t more for me to binge upon. Very well done. Good art, good characters, good story. Bravo.

  11. I love dragon, I truly do…. but I forgot how JED is able to create such interesting and fascinating characters.
I was more excited by the fact they exchange name rather than by seeing the dragons.
    JED you monster… :p
By the way, I have too many favorite characters that I don’t want killed… But I know it’s not possible to save them able (is it?).

    1. So was I, sis. Good for you to point that out.

Of course, I have to admit I’d probably have been equally thrilled by a Draconian dragon and a Thrasan dragon exchanging names.

      1. Nah. These guys are just minions.
In proper TVTropes terminology, The Dragon would probably be Tethik for the Kivalian throne, or Zona for Ipola. That super-competent one who could probably take the throne if they really wanted it, but are the loyal right-hand of the one who has the hot seat.

      2. Would have been interesting to say the least… But who knows what JED has in reserve for us… 😉
