They Look Tough – Page 1290

  1. Whichever of the twins had the final line is totally right. šŸ™‚ Keltan does look, and fight, like ten of them.
Nice to see Pontagar made it through with his tribe.

    1. Lora,
It’s Brantik who said the line. I don’t know why, but going from left to right, I tend to put them in reverse alphabetical order, Carshik and Brantik. Now, of course, I have to go archive diving to remind myself which of the mirror twins is the lefty … šŸ™‚

      Warm regards,

  2. Aaaah, the twins are back. They’re so great. I see everyone’s been armoring up.

When I saw Zona’s smile in panel four, I wondered if that was Pontagar and company, and pretty much dismissed the notion because, well, Pontagar. I stand corrected; that winter mission has done a lot of good to the survivors.

Last, to reflect on Keltan’s self-depiction as a farmer… the wise say that there is a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. What is coming is a time to reap.

    1. Indeed. Seriously, Keltan and Liri would be happiest just growing food and living peacefully. But we don’t get to choose the times we live in. šŸ™‚

  3. Oh, and looking at the page again after the reply has been sent, somehow Keltan referring to himself as a farmer in the first panel gives me strong Clark Kent vibes. Anyone else has that?

    1. I didn’t intend that, but at this point, especially with the way the G8M version came out, I was seeing that myself. Oh, well – Kal El is my favorite superhero, unconscious influence or not, I won’t deny you have a point. šŸ™‚

  4. “One of us? He looks like ten of us” Did you borrow that line the film “The Adventures of Robin Hood”?

    1. MasterDiver,
No, I did not borrow it.
      I stole it outright. šŸ™‚

hehe! Steal from the best, I always say. Like Shakespeare …

      Warm regards,

  5. ā€œI wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to
decide is what to do with the time that is given us.ā€

  6. Granted that Keltan has a long stride and could well keep up on a long March. That said, Chiefs and cavalry have horses, Urts got dragons, how about a war Oliphant for Keltan? I mean Keltan is imposing in his own right, but can you imagine him charging into battle Astrid an armored war Oliphant? Fracking awesome, man. Iā€™d pay real money to see that. Even if you did a one off for the Patreon or TWC vote incentive.

  7. I am a fan of this comic. I love it! But, I have a tech issue question: I hope it is acceptable here, because Zona is the only website giving me trouble. (Also, I realize you are an artist and author, and probably not a web guru, but here goes…)
When I open the comic, I am linking to the main “http://barbarianprincess.com/” url. The last page I viewed opens every time, ignoring any new pages that have been released. I went weeks without seeing a new page until I realized what was going on. I have to go in and clear the cache and cookies to get it to work properly, but it then doesn’t see the next new page, and I have to clear the cache and cookies again. I am using firefox and I update regularly.
    Do you have any ideas?

Also, I love that Keltan and family are getting more time in the story. I am SO looking forward to it!
Thank you for making this wonderful adventure for us to share in.

    1. I’ve noticed that too, all I do is go back a page and then click the newest page icon. Sure it’s annoying, but not fatal.
