Up Yours – Page 1161

TRANSCRIPT: KOR LACHNIS: <Thou canst not imagine -> IPOLA: <Oh, yes I can.  I have a very active imagination, and I’ve also had a very big library of very old books and a lot of time to read.  I know who you are, Kor Lachnis, by the markings on your face if nothing more. After the Fall, your body was never found, and many deduced that you had had yourself put into a cold sleep, because - of course you did. I guess you couldn’t bear to face the defeat of your precious Shuach at the hands of a pair of real goddesses. And now, thanks to this lickspittle Urtt, no doubt, you’ve returned to, apparently, bore me to death.> KOR LACHNIS: <Ah well, we shall strive to make things more entertaining for thee, then, shall we?  It is true, Owner Gorshash, that here in God’s holy place, her powers are moot?> GORSHASH: <Indeed, lord.  <Nevertheless, we must keep her chained. These Erogenians are extremely resourceful and dangerous. > KOR LACHNIS: <And so we shall.  Shall we have her scourged? Would it please thee to see it?> IPOLA: <Of course it would, since he’s probably just as banal as you are.  It’s all right, Gorshash, enjoy yourself. Maybe your Erogenian master will even give you permission to masturbate while watching.>

  1. I’m surprised that the Urtt language has a word for banal, or at least one that can be used as an insult.

    1. The word is “Pruchtah-huch”. The literal meaning is “One who loves to look at dung too much.”

      Warm regards,

      1. “One who loves to look at dung too much.”

I have to admit, this one had me giggling. 🙂

  2. TheQuestionBeforeAnswers

Is it me, or does it look like she is crying just a smidge in the last panel?

  3. Curious to see just how strong she is and how long her defiant tone lasts once the pain and humiliation start. She’s strong but given enough time everyone breaks in one way or another.

    1. “She’s strong but given enough time everyone breaks in one way or another.”

Or they die before. Which is equally unsavoury an outcome for Ipola.

      1. Dying to me is just another form of “breaking” and I agree it’s unsavory but usually better that the body breaks than the mind/spirit breaking first and she talks or goes crazy.

  4. Ooh, savage! I wonder if they really know who they are dealing with? Ipola is one hell of a queen. I hope she can keep herself together once the torture starts.

  5. I think Ipola is trying to make it worse for herself, inviting an increase in the torture, to make up for getting one of her friends killed for what amounted to a reunion with an old flame.

    1. I think it’s even more than that. She’s trying to get into Kor’s and Gorash’s heads, so thatn they’ll be torturing her less to pry useful intel from her, and more to humiliate her and ‘teach her her place’. She’s trying to sacrifice herself for the good of her poeple, by getting these two villains to waste their time on petty revenge.

Or, hey, maybe she’s hoping that, while engaging in petty revenge, Kor or Gorash will let slip something important, and be careless enough to give her a chance to escape. To paraphrase Parson Grotti, psy ops are cheap and easy 🙂

      1. I think it’s more about driving a wedge between the two. Re-emphasizing the slave relationship between them was kind of the heavy hand there.

Then again, Urtts kind of have that hierarchy anyway, don’t they? The ones lower on the totem pole are slaves to the ones above. Gorash was called “owner of owners” if I recall correctly. Sure, it’s gotta smart that he’s now one rung lower on the ladder, and that the one above him is not an Urtt, but I don’t think it’d be anything he’s not used to. Plus, Gorash got chastised by Shuach pretty harshly last time he let his emotions get the better of him. I don’t think he’d be in a hurry to do it again.

        Soooo, backfire?

        1. Not sure – she also reminded Gorshash that Kor-Lachnis is his most hated enemy. Not just Erogenian, but someone particularly notable from when the Urrts were made into the creatures they are now. That could have some long term good consequences even if things don’t go well right now.

  6. “Maybe your Eregonian master will even give you permission to masturbate while watching.”

I can just see Gorash’s hands twitching. “Totally not interested! I am… totally not at all attracted to you! I… have… no interest whatsoever… this is totally not a case of foe yay…”

  7. So Ipola knows who she’s dealing with and still talks that way? GUTSY.

  8. And the insults will continue in 1…2….3….

  9. Kor Lachnis: “What?! Ew! That is gross, Ipola queen! Thou should be ashamed!”

  10. Pretty gutsy of Ipola, trying to hit nerves or push buttons at this point…I’d like to see her hit a lot of both.

  11. Kor Lachnis is no stranger to torture, remember what he did to the woman who dared to love him — magically sculpted her into an immortal monster with a visage of the woman she was before.

  12. I’m wondering if Ipola has something up her virtual sleeve with which to surprise her captors.

  13. Am reminded of two items from my Army days in Vietnam.
    1. from a list of parody terms: “Seriously Dead – a condition much graver than seriously wounded, but considerably less painful.”
    2. “There’s no such thing as a bad day when you have a door knob on the inside of the door.”
