  1. Nooooo I loved that couple

  2. You. Dick.

  3. Damn. I really liked Sheahla. 🙁 *sniff*

  4. 🙁

There are going to be a couple of people feeling guilty tonight. Most of all Yatta-Ta, both for making the fateful bad plan and for leaving her side. Mentl, for stopping to chitchat when he could have been helping resolve the fight. Maybe Tula +/- Guntig for not getting to her in time.

But that’s war. The good and the bad both die young just as easily, and those that survive have to bear the burden of those that did not.

  5. Right in the feels…

  6. Oh Ow! Right in the emotions. The look on his face in the next to last and last panel hurts. That is a man to stunned to feel the pain fully yet.

  7. Sadly, every victory has its price…

    1. This comment made me think about “What’s the price of a mile”, by Sabaton.
It seems quite appropriate to me here.

  8. Well, this will be a tough blow to tank up for our tame Kivalian goofball of a knight. :-S

  9. NO.

    NO. F*CKING. WAY.

WAKE UP YOU IIIDJIT, THAT’S NOT FUNNY.

I KNOW YOU’RE GETTING BACK AT YATTA-TA FOR EMBROILING YOU ALL INTO HIS BAD PLAN, BUT THAT’S VERY POOR FORM ON US READERS.

    SO YES — WHAT?

… Oh, was I screaming? Awfully sorry about that. I didn’t realize. Of course I’ll stop right here and now. I won’t disturb the collective mourning any more. Still, do you mind if I finish what I was going on about? In a more subdued tone, that is? Thanks, that’s very considerate of you, sisters and brothers.

So yes, Sheahla, I do realize that you have never appeared to be aware of our existence. But still, be nice to us and stop playing dead.

(And Tula, I still love you but I’m real bad put out with you for going along with the joke. I understand the reasons but I still dislike it tremendously. Don’t try to pretend you can’t hear me. You’re Tula.)

Now that that’s out of my system, I’d like to acknowledge that Tula’s expressions in panels 2 and 3 are yet again a masterpiece of emotions. This is beautifully done. For the first time ever, I wish a page of this webcomic had only three panels.

  10. Once again the price is paid

  11. Dammit…

  12. You See Yatta-ta of Ir-Anis, sometimes when a plan is bad you can lose more than your hat. :'(

  13. The hell man? You channeling George R. R. Martin?

    1. War cares not about who is popular. 🙁

    2. …or Joss Wheedon.

  14. Mentl, now would be a fantastic time to channel “Don’t Fear the Reaper” or “Dead or Alive” Because if ya’ll gonna be a mage, might as well go full Necromancer

    1. He was already warned off that path with the child who got bitten.
